Q + A

Do I need cash?

Yes, take out cash. Some smaller businesses outside of the resort just take cash. Koh Samui is relatively cheap. We would recommend having $200 of cash. You can also easily pull out Baht from an ATM and there are also currency exchanges all around the island.

How is cell phone service?

We would recommend downloading the Airalo app and downloading an Esim card ($10) before you arrive. We used this on our last trip here and didn't have a problem with service. Also, most hotels and restaurants have free WiFi.

Where do I stay?

The Conrad Koh Samui is located on the south-western tip of the island in the Taling Ngam area. We recommend staying there, but there are also a wide variety of accommodations close by for every budget.

Should I rent a car?

Renting a car is very cheap, but a little challenging if you're not used to driving on the opposite side. Taxis and ride shares are very cheap. We highly recommend using the Grab app. It is very cheap and efficient. ***** You pay cash after the ride, unlike Uber. ******

What should I do after I touchdown at the airport?

Duty free your ass to the alcohol section and buy a bottle. Tequila on the island is expensive because of import tax.
